In this decade…
every piece of our planet will be protected and cared for by the local people who know it best. The Herd is a group of dedicated monthly givers helping the Samburu to fulfill this dream. With our help, they protect the vast rangeland of Northern Kenya.
Two decades in…
we have eradicated trachoma and provided clean safe water to thousands of local people. Our unique silango water reservoirs restore the surrounding water table to heal the land. We have created a network of warrior scouts who protect elephants and migration routes across millions of acres of land to give safe passage through community lands and reduce human-elephant conflict. We have empowered women to continue their traditional craft of beading, giving them the freedom to live how they strongly chose. We have educated hundreds of children and we have begun recording the knowledge of their elders to safeguard it for their future.
